Now that you know how to appeal my SASSA R350 grant, let us look into some of the frequently asked questions (FAQS) about how do I appeal a SASSA R350 grant?

My SASSA Grant Was Rejected Because SASSA Says I Have UIF Money?

When the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) reason for rejecting your application for the Covid-19 SRD R350 grant is based on you having an Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF), it sounds unfair.

More also, you may get such reasons even if you’re unemployed.

In such a situation, you will have to prove that you’re not a beneficiary of UIF.

To do that, you’ll need to confirm with UIF that you don’t owe any money by registering for uFilling at www.ufilling.co.za/uif/

However, if you owe UIF money, you have to apply to claim your money from UIF benefit and when you are no longer a beneficiary of UIF, you then apply for the SASSA R350 grant and you’ll get approved.

How Will I Know My SASSA R350 Appeal Is Approved?

When SASSA approves your appeal to R350 grant, you’ll receive an SMS notification on the cell phone number you used to register your SASSA.

You’ll then be given instructions on the next steps to follow to complete your SASSA Social Relief of Distress R350 Grant.

You must follow the instructions carefully and complete them in order to successfully get your SASSA R350 grant payment.

We do recommend that you read How To Submit Banking Details To Sassa. You’ll know how to send your banking details to SASSA to receive your R350 grant money.

Will SASSA Approve My R350 Grant Appeal?

Yes, SASSA will approve your R350 grant appeal if you meet the requirements for the appeal and for the grant. Again, your appeal will be reconsidered if you give a convincing reason to overcome that of SASSA’s for rejecting your application.

What To Do If SASSA R350 Appeal Is Rejected?

It’s very unfortunate to get your SASSA R350 appeal declined after appealing with all the reasons you claim. However, you can reapply for SASSA if your previous application was declined.

You should read How To Reapply For Sassa R350 Grant for the reapplying process to reapply successfully for SASSA SRD R350 grant.

Do I Have To Reinstate My SASSA R350 Grant If Appeal Is Rejected?

You only reinstate your SASSA R350 grant when you have canceled your grant or your application. To do that, we recommend that you read How To Reinstate SASSA R350 Grant for the guide.

We also recommend that you check out SASSA Grant Payment Dates for 2022

UPDATE:

SASSA is no longer processing R350 appeals on the srd.sassa.gov.za website. Instead, you’ll have to submit your appeals through the srd.dsd.sassa/appeals/appeal portal.

The option you have is to apply for reconsideration. However, the problem is that SASSA has removed the reconsideration tab from the srd website. So we suggest you wait for some days to check again if they have put it back so that you can request reconsideration.
Or you can use the application tab to reapply for the grant.

You will have to apply for R350 reconsideration on the srd website. SASSA will know you’re not receiving UIF grant when they run your information and will approve your application.

The fact is, SASSA cannot verify if the money flowing through your account is for someone other than you. We, therefore, suggest that you tell your neighbor to have a way to receive his or her money. Otherwise, SASSA will not approve you for the grant.

First, you can check if you still qualify for the R350 grant on the SASSA SRD website.
Second, SASSA says all pending applications and payments will be processed before the end of June. We suggest you wait a little longer for the next few weeks to check your status again.

If you have not done the new reapplication as SASSA asked, we recommend that you do that. However, if you have, then you don’t have to do anything. SASSA has said they are working on all applications and will finish processing applications by June.

Reply
Universityonlineapplication May 10, 2022 - 12:33 pm

SASSA suspended payments for April due to the reapplication process. So, If you have not reapplied for the R350 yet as SASSA asked all R350 beneficiaries to do, I strongly recommend that you do so.

When your reapplication is approved, SASSA will process your payments including that of April, and pay you.

First, make sure your information is accurate and can be verified from the Department of Home Affairs (DHA) database. If all are correct and you still get failed application notifications, it may be a problem in the SASSA system and or website. Keep trying and your application should go through successfully.

In the meantime, you should read SASSA R350 Grant Identification Verification Failed for detailed explanation and guide.

If your application goes through but declines all the time, then make sure the information you provide are current and your own because SASSA will try to verify your information with the Department of Home Affairs.

Agan, you should not be receiving any other grant or financial support such as Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) or the NSFAS.
