What to do if SASSA SRD status is UIF Registered. Is your SASSA Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant application status showing Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) Registered?

Do you want to know what you should do if your SASSA SRD status is UIF registered?

Well, lots of applicants seeking SASSA SRD R350 grant usually face this status and in this article, we’re guiding you on what to do if SRD status is UIF registered.

We’ll also look at some of the frequently asked questions about what you should do if SASSA SRD status is UIF registered.

We should therefore jump right to the topics.

What To Do If SASSA SRD Status Is UIF Registered.

When your SRD status shows UIF Registered, the best option you have is to submit an SRD Grant appeal to avoid the UIF registered status on your SRD R350 grant application

Again, you have to send your SRD grant appeal to SASSA within 30 days when your SRD status appeared on your SASSA dashboard and became available to you.

When your SRD status shows “UIF Registered” it means you’re a beneficiary of the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) or you’re receiving UIF Funds.

This actually disqualifies you from getting the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) Social Relief of Distress (SRD) Grant.

One of SASSA SRD requirement is to not be receiving any other grant or funding

In most cases, it may not be true that you’re receiving UIF or you’re a beneficiary of the Unemployment Insurance Fund for that matter.

Anyways, you’ll still need to appeal the decision taken by SASSA on your covid-19 SRD R350 grant application.

We do recommend that you read How To Appeal To SASSA SRD Grant for the step-by-step process to submit your appeal to SASSA successfully to get approved for the SRD R350 grant.

Moreover, you don’t have to visit the Department of Labor as a means to resolve the issue, instead, you just have to send an appeal.

When the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) receives your SRD grant appeal, they will verify your employment status with the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) and they will communicate the outcome to you.

We also recommend that you read How To Reapply For SASSA R350 Grant for the in-depth step-by-step guide to reapplying to SASSA successfully.

This is what you should do when your application for the Covid-19 SRD R350 grant is declined due to UIF registration.

You will have to appeal at www.srd.sassa.gov.za

Now that you know what to do if SRD status is UIF registered, let’s look at some of the frequently asked questions about the application for the SASSA Covid-19 SRD R350 Grant declined due to UIF Registration.

Can YOu Get SASSA And UIF?

No, you cannot get both the SASSA grant and UIF at the same time. When you’re receiving the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF), you are disqualified to get Social Relief of Distress (SRD) Grant.

Why Does SASSA Status Say Failed?

When your SASSA grant application status shows “Identification Verification Failed, it means the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) could not verify your information with the Department of Home Affairs (DHA).

You will therefore need to apply for SASSA reconsideration.

You should see How To Apply For SRD Reconsideration for the easy guide to applying to SASSA for your SRD grant reconsideration.

If you’re registered for UIF, then you’ll first need to deregister the Unemployment Insurance Fund. You should read How To Deregister UIF for the guide.

On the other hand, if you’re not registered on UIF as your SRD status says, you’ll have to appeal your declined R350 application for reconsideration.

SASSA will know you’re not UIF registered when they run your application again.

You should therefore appeal as soon as possible. SASSA will know you’re not UIF registered when they run a second check of your details and will approve you.

Currently, there’s no way to cancel UIF for R350. However you can only appeal to R350 for reconsideration so that SASSA takes a second review of your application for the SRD R350 grant. You should read How Do I Apply For Reconsideration For R350 Grant?

Currently, there’s no direct way to cancel UIF. What you can do is apply for SASSA R350 reconsideration and SASSA will make it checks and they will know that you’re no longer receiving grants from the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF).

In that case, we suggest you contact SASSA to make an inquiry. Or you can cancel your current application and reapply again via the SASSA reconsideration. You should look How Do I Cancel My SASSA R350 Grant Application for the cancelation process guide and also read at How Do I Apply For Reconsideration For R350 Grant? for the applying for the reconsideration guide.

SASSA has to process your appeal and verify all needed information before they can approve your appeal. Again, make sure you meet the requirements for the grant.
