My SASSA Grant Was Rejected Because SASSA Says I Have UIF Money?
When the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) reason for rejecting your application for the Covid-19 SRD R350 grant is based on you having an Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF), it sounds unfair.
More also, you may get such reasons even if you’re unemployed.
In such a situation, you will have to prove that you’re not a beneficiary of UIF.
To do that, you’ll need to confirm with UIF that you don’t owe any money by registering for uFilling at www.ufilling.co.za/uif/
However, if you owe UIF money, you have to apply to claim your money from UIF benefits and when you are no longer a beneficiary of UIF, you then apply for the SASSA R350 grant and you’ll get approved.
How Will I Know My SASSA R350 Appeal Is Approved?
When SASSA approves your appeal to R350 grant, you’ll receive an SMS notification on the cell phone number you used to register your SASSA.
You’ll then be given instructions on the next steps to follow to complete your SASSA Social Relief of Distress R350 Grant.
You must follow the instructions carefully and complete them in order to successfully get your SASSA R350 grant payment.

The fact is, SASSA cannot verify if the money flowing through your account is for someone other than you. We, therefore, suggest that you tell your neighbor to have a way to receive his or her money. Otherwise, SASSA will not approve you for the grant.
