I was rejected but I got failed auto promotion and I was excepted by my institution. I then registered not knowing I was rejected by nasfas and I did pass 50% of my modules as I got 5 out of 9. How should I appeal.

NSAS will open the appeals for students to submit appeals. You will then write your appeal letter and state the reason NSFAS rejected your registration and submit your letter.

Without knowing your NSFAS funding status for 2023, it will be very difficult to know what to do. You should go to the finance/bursary office of your institution to inquire whether you’re listed as NSFAS-funded students for 2023.

it is possible to be funded by nsfas after competing 1st year in tvet college ,without 2022 nsfas reference and outstanding fees balance due to unsucessful 2022 nsfas application?

If your 2022 NSFAS application was unsuccessful. You’ll need to apply again when applications are open before you can be funded. And yes, continuing students who are not currently funded but need the funding will have to apply for approval to get the NSFAS funding.

Again, it doesn’t matter if you have outstanding fees or not. Just apply and pray you get approved for the funding.

Hi. I have appealed on the nsfas portal. My status has been saying that my appeal is closed for over a month now. What does that mean?

Reply

If your appeal is closed, it means NSFAS did not consider your appeal and has not approved you for funding.

If the website is working correctly, you should be able to upload all required documents at a go. Uploading documents must go through correctly without any hiccups if the site is working correctly. This means, you don’t need to upload it multiple times but once.

Try to change the browser you’re using and upload them again.

Hello I have a problem here I have been trying to track my status for sometime now but I couldn’t it allowed me today In the morning but there was no appeal button to appeal because it says I’m unsuccessful funded I have exceeded N+ but I did state that I’m a continuing student for another 3years now I’m stuck I don’t know what to say or to do please help me escape this problem I’m facing

The situation here is that, with the N+ rules, NSFAS counts from the first year you registered into an institution and not from when you started getting funding. So, it doesn’t matter where you change institution or course, NSFAS N+rule will still affect you if you’re continuing students and have exceeded the eligible funding years.
