In this article, we’re discussing what you should do if NSFAS did not pay your fees.

So, let’s get started with the topics.
What To Do If NSFAS Did Not Pay My Fees?
You will have to pay the fees by yourself if NSFAS didn’t pay your fees until the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) pays your fees in a refund.
What to do if NSFAS didn’t pay my fees is that you’ll have to find ways to pay your fees in order to continue your studies if it is urgent and your institution is demanding that you pay so that you do not drop out or take a gap year.
After you have paid your fees in time, you can submit a refund request to the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) through the Financial Aid Office of your institution.
NSFAS will then rectify its delay in payment of your fees and it will reimburse all the fees to you.
However, according to NSFAS in 2022, they affirm that students must not pay registration fees because it’s the obligation of NSFAS to pay registration fees and other fees of NSFAS approved students. And so, if you pay your registration fees, NSFAS will not reimburse you
Students do not pay for registration fee. NSFAS pay registration together with your fees. Should you pay registration fee, NSFAS will not reimburse you.

Nonetheless, it seems that NSFAS sometimes lack behind in paying registration fees for students, and most of the time, they pay late after the registration is closed.
So, if you don’t want to wait for another year to register and NSFAS is delaying in paying your registration fees then you should pay them by yourself.
Why Has NSFAS Not Pay My Fees?
There may be many factors contributing to NSFAS not paying your fees. This could be that NSFAS has not approved your application yet, or NSFAS is waiting for your academic registration records to create a bursary for you so that they can go ahead and pay your fees.
Also, it could be that your funding is canceled but you’re not aware, and you’re still waiting on NSFS to pay your fees.
Again, it could also be that you have failed to meet the academic performance requirements and you failed your modules.

Yes, the National Student Financial Aid Scheme will refund all your fees if you pay by yourself and get approved for NSFAS funding later.
When Will I Receive My First NSFAS Allowance Fees?
The first payment of NSFAS allowances is issued in February/March each year.
So, if you’re an approved student to receive funding from the National Student Financial Aid Scheme, expect your first NSFAS allowances in February or March.
However, you should by then activate your NSFAS Wallet. You should read How To Activate NSFAS Wallet for the guide to make your NSFAS wallet ready to receive your allowances.
Will NSFAS Pay My Fees If I Change My Univeristy?

The university will submit his document and NSFAS will process them. If he’s approved, NSFAS will reimburse all the fees you’ve already paid.
Nsfas is not paying for our kids fees and our kids are stressed .the parents don’t know what to do and the government says nothing about it.
This is quite unfortunate. There have been lots of compliant from both parents and students about this issue. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for the better.
