What Is NSFAS One Time Pin, OTP Number?
The NSFAS One Time Pin (OTP) is a Personal Identification Pin Number that you’ll get from NSFAS once to your cell phone number to confirm that you’re the real person logging in to accept the SOP or LAF.
The LAF or SOP is the online loan agreement form that students who are approved for NSFAS funding must sign and it’s done electronically.
You’ll not receive your allowances until you’ve signed the loan agreement and you’ll need the OTP number to log in and sign the form

How To Get Your NSFAS OTP Number
- Go to nsfas.org.za and click on MyNSFAS account
- Enter your Username and Password
- Click on the My Personal Details tap
- Enter your current cell phone number and email address
- Click on Update Your Details
- You’ll receive a One Time Pin (OTP) on your new cell phone number and email address
- Enter the OTP number you received to unlock your account
Does NSFAS OTP Number Expire?
NSFAS One Time Pin (OTP) is valid for just 24 hours from the minute it is issued to you. After 24 hours, the number expires and you cannot use it.
We advise you to always keep your cell phone with you and one after you request an OTP. And you should use it before 24 hours.
Can I Request For NSFAS OTP Twice?
Yes, you can request an NSFAS One Time Pin twice if the previous one didn’t work, or never arrived.
The OTP usually takes longer than it should. Sometimes it can take days or weeks. In such cases, try to use the same request method to request another OTP.
Again, it may be that you couldn’t use the one sent to you in time and it expires. You can request another OTP in such instances.
How Do I Use NSFAS OTP Number?
- Request for the One Time Pin (OTP) number
- NSFAS will send you the OTP by SMS to your cell phone (the number you used for the registration)
- Enter the Pin you received where you should.
- NSFAS system will recognize and you can log into your account

I need an otp to unlock my wallet its been 4 months now
I have not receivey OPT number and I’ve been trying several times
But I created my account in 2021 but I was able to login before on the 15th of September
NSFAS will send it to you.

I have not received my nsfas money and have not been sent an sms to open a wallet account up to now
First, you’ll have to make sure you’re approved for NSFAS funding. Second, also make sure you’re using the same cell phone number you used for the NSFAS application.
