If you’re waiting for your R350 grant, then there’s nothing to worry about. SASSA says they’re processing all pending payments and will pay in July. Let’s hope they do so as said.

Don’t worry, if you’re approved but with no payment date, you’ll have to wait for SASSA to send you a payment date on which you can collect your money. According to SASSA, most of the grants approved in June will be paid in July.

SASSA usually gives you reason why your grant is declined. If the reason is a source of income, you can only appeal to SASSA by applying for reconsideration. SASSA will know that you do not have other sources of income and will approve your grant.

SASSA cannot verify that the money flowing through your bank account is not yours and you’re receiving it on someone’s behalf. So, if you want SASSA, you should find way to collect money for your family members other than your bank account.

I dont have a source of income i only get money for child support but its not my money is for the child. I need that money and i dont have an Rdp house.

Reply
Universityonlineapplication June 25, 2022 - 2:07 pm

First, make sure the money you receive for your child support does not flow through an account in your name. The issue is that SASSA cannot verify if the money in your account is for you or if you’re receiving it on somebody’s behalf.

Apply for reconsideration then.

This is unfortunate. You should apply for R350 reconsideration on the srd website. When SASSA runs your application through the verification process, they will know you do not have other sources of income.

Again, you should make sure there’s no money flowing in your bank account either for you or you’re collecting it on somebody’s behalf.

I get about R200 a month from my kids. For doing “errands” Because they work, they don’t usually have time to pay certain things sometimes so they transfer money to my account and I pay what they need me to pay. It’s not every month and as soon as money clears in my account, it gets withdrawn from side. Yet sassa declined me. There is never money in my account except what is transferred and then withdrawn immediately. How can sassa say I have money? They never asked they just assumed. Money coming and going keeps my account open especially since last time I received R350 was in March. If i stop doing these errands while waiting on sassa, I’m afraid bank will close my account cos there will be no money coming in, then what? Opening a bank account is traumatic if you do not have a job because you do not meet the banks criteria. I’m so disappointed!!

It is quite unfortunate. The fact is, SASSA cannot proof money flowing through your bank account is not yours and you’re collecting on other’s behalf. So, find way to receive that money other than your bank account if you want SASSA to approve your R350 grant.

You will have to appeal to SASSA by applying for R350 reconsideration on the srd website. SASSA will process your information and will know you’re not receiving any other grant and do not have other sources of income.
